Al Meera Staff Ensures the Return of QR50,000 Found in Store
Jan2014
A staff at Al Meera won the hearts of many after playing an instrumental role in returning QR 50,000 left behind by a customer on 20th January 2014.
The mundane became extraordinary for staff Rey Sergio Habana Supermarket Fruits & Vegetables Section Manager, who was working his shift at the Bin Omran branch, when he first spotted an envelope. Upon closer inspection Rey found a wad of cash which was later calculated to be QR50,000. Rey immediately notified the on duty security which ensured the swift hand over of the money to the police.
The owner of the money, while tracing his footsteps later reached Al Meera where he was informed that his money was in safe hands.
As the day progressed, Rey Sergio Habana began receiving recognition by the owner, the police, and his colleagues as well as the management of Al Meera who took the initiative of rewarding the employee with QR 1500 as a token of appreciation.
Rey’s only response to the newfound fandom was that he was merely doing his jobs and his actions were in line with Al Meera’s values of community welfare.
